Museum Donation Guidelines

Museum 501 (c) (3) Exemption Document

Your tax-deductible support is the key action that continues to keep The Museum of the American Cocktail viable.

Support for the Museum falls into three broad categories: donations of time and labor, donations of money to fund operations and exhibit artifact acquisitions, and donations of artifacts.

Donations of time and labor

At times the Museum mounts satellite exhibits and installation help is valuable. Special exhibits may require some construction of partitions or display cabinetry. The exhibits themselves require display graphics and captions mounted on Gatorfome, and there are sometimes requirements for picture framing as well. In the future, potential use of acrylic reproductions of cocktails will be planned.

If you or your company can contribute to these needs, the Museum can guarantee a tax-deductible receipt for your contributions and a plaque on display at the Museum recounting and crediting your (or your organization’s) efforts on behalf on The Museum of the American Cocktail.

Donations of money

The Museum is pleased to accept monetary donations and, should you wish to earmark your money for a particular purpose, this can also be accommodated. When considering a donation, please consider the advantages of becoming a member of the Museum. More information on membership can be viewed here and more information on the services and outreach the Museum offers can be viewed here.

Any donation you make can either be credited to you or be anonymous, as you desire, whether you become a member or not. Larger contributions may offer substantial benefits to you or your organization. Please contact us at for an analysis based on your desired gift.

Donations of artifacts to the Permanent Collection

All offers of displayable objects are welcome. Due to Museum size constraints and exhibit topics, we regret we can not accept all such donations. All items in The Museum of the American Cocktail have been hand-picked by our Curator. His test scale is how well any given artifact illustrates a particular aspect of cocktail and spirits history on its own.

If you feel you have an artifact – or a collection of artifacts – that would supplement the Museum collection, our Curator would be pleased to hear from you. He can be reached at As with other types of donations, the contributions of artifacts are tax-deductible at an agreed-upon value.
